Mode Config Records |
Mode Config is similar to DHCP and is used to assign IP addresses to remote VPN
clients. A Mode Config record may be selected during IKE policy specification.
VPN clients connecting using an IKE policy with a Mode Config record will be
assigned IP address from the pools specified in the selected Mode Config record.
One or more IKE policies may use the same Mode Config record.
A Mode Config record contains a list of three IP pools for allocating to VPN
clients. VPN Clients are allocated IP addresses from the first pool. When
the pool is exhausted, they are allocated from the second pool.
The addresses from the third pool are allocated when both the first and the
second pool addresses are already in use. A record should contain a minimum of
one IP address pool. |
List of Mode Config Records |
The List of Mode Config Records table contains the following fields: |
Name: A unique name given to the record for
identification and management. |
Pool Start IP: Start IP for the pools configured.
If the second or third pool is not defined, it will be displayed as 0.0.0.0. |
Pool End IP: End IP for the pools configured. If
the second or third pool is not defined, it will be displayed as 0.0.0.0. |
Action/Edit: Edit the parameters of a Mode Config
Record. |
Select All: Select all the Mode Config Records. |
Delete: Delete selected Mode Config Records. |

Note: If a Mode Config Record is in use by an IKE
Policy, you must disable the IKE policy first before you can Edit/Delete the
Mode Config Record. |
