PPTP Sever
This page displays the fields related to the configuration of a PPTP server, the IP address of the client that the server has assigned and the PPTP server IP address.
Enable PPTP Server: A check box to enable/disable PPTP server.
Starting IP Address: The starting IP address of the range of IP addresses to assign to connecting users.This IP address is taken as the server IP address and rest of the addresses in the range are assigned to clients.
Ending IP Address: The ending IP address of the range of IP addresses to assign to connecting users.
User Time-Out: If there is no traffic from a user for more than the specified time out, the connection is disconnected.
Authentication Supported:
PAP: Enables support for PAP authentication method.
CHAP: Enables support for CHAP authentication method.
MS-CHAP: Enables support for MS-CHAP authentication method
MS-CHAPv2: Enables support for MS-CHAPv2 authentication method.
Encryption Supported
Mppe 40 bit: Enables Mppe 40 bit encryption (avaiable only for MS-CHAP and MS-CHAPv2 authentcation methods).
Mppe 128 bit: Enables Mppe 128 bit encryption (avaiable only for MS-CHAP and MS-CHAPv2 authentcation methods).
Stateful Mppe: Enables Stateful Mppe encryption (avaiable only for MS-CHAP and MS-CHAPv2 authentcation methods).This mode of mppe encryption is less secure and can be used for compatibility.
Click Apply to save the settings.
Click Reset to revert to previous settings.
