ADSL ISP Settings |
The
ADSL ISP Settings Page allows you to set up your Internet connection(s). |
You can use the
Auto Detect button at the bottom of the page if you do not know
the type of connection provided by your ISP.
Auto Detect attempts to
automatically detect your connection type by probing for
different connection methods and suggesting one that your ISP may most likely support. |
If you know your ISP connection type, you can bypass the Auto Detect feature and
manually configure the router. |
Ensure that you have the connection information relevant to your connection
type before you begin; for example: IP Addresses, account information, etc. This information is
usually provided by your ISP or network administrator. |
ISP Log In |
Does your Internet connection require a login? |
Select this option based on the type of account you have with your ISP. If you
need to enter login information every time you connect to the Internet, check
the
Yes radio box; otherwise, select
No. |
If your connection type is one of PPPoE or PPPOA Cable, then you need to
login. Choose
Yes and type in the
User Name and
Password in their respective
fields. If your ISP has not assigned any login information, then choose
No and
skip the
ISP Type section. |

Domain Name Servers (DNS) |
Domain name servers (DNS) convert Internet names such as www.google.com,
www.netgear.com, etc. to Internet addresses called IP addresses. |
Select
Get dynamically from ISP checkbox if you have not been assigned a static
DNS IP address. |
If
Use these DNS Servers is selected, ensure that you fill in valid DNS server
IP addresses in the fields. |
