Troubleshooting your IP address
This issue likely happened because your Internet Service Provider remembers the MAC address of the DSL modem previously connected to their network.
One way to correct this issue is to call your Internet Service Provider to remove the saved MAC address from their system to let you install the new DSL modem. Once that is done, you can re-run this Setup Wizard.
Another way is to tell the Setup Wizard to use the same MAC address of the previous device. You will need to find the MAC address of the previously-connected DSL modem from its product label, or through its web-based configuration interface.
