Known Issue:

• Any type of Canon printer application can interfere with the installation or firmware update process on the NMS300.
  Workaround: Uninstall the Cannon printer application from your computer, install or update the NMS300, and then reinstall the Canon printer application after the NMS300 installation is complete.
• The firmware update process window may not close.
  Workaround: Reboot your computer.
• The Device dashboard does not display all Smart Switch temperature, CPU, and memory information.
• The double quotes (") special character is not supported in HTML syntax, so it is not supported in user names and passwords.

Software Update Instructions:

Use these instructions to update the NMS300 software:

1. There are two installers: one for a 32-bit Windows OS, and another one for a 64-bit Windows OS. Download the appropriate zip file from the NETGEAR web site for either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows.
2. To run the NMS300, configure your computer with a static IP address.
   The NMS300 is a server application that binds itself to the static IP address of the computer.
3. Unzip the file to obtain the executable installer file.
4. Double click on the executable file to launch the installer and customize the settings.
   • If another application is already using TCP port number 8080 on the Windows computer, select a different port number for the NMS300.
   • If you have multiple Network Interface Cards (NICs) on your computer, choose the appropriate NIC in the NIC selection page in the setup wizard.
   After the installer finishes the installation, the NMS300 is running as a service.
5. Clear your web browser’s cache before you use the NMS300 web UI.
   You do not need to reboot the Windows server to start using NMS300.
   You do not need to enter a license key to let the NMS300 start managing devices.
6. To launch the NMS300 web UI from the same computer on which you installed NMS300, enter the URL http://localhost:8080, or the IP address of the PC server where NMS300 is installed.
   • If a different port number is set for the web server during NMS300 installation, replace 8080 in this URL with the port number provided during installation.
   • To access the NMS300 web UI from a remote computer, replace “localhost” with the IP address of the computer on which the NMS300 is running.
7. The NMS300 login page displays.
   The default username is admin and the default password is admin.
