New Features and Enhancements:
- Removed the restriction of maximum of 10G bandwidth for broadcast and multicast traffics.
- Extended maximum LAG groups from 8 to 12.
Issues solved:
- Connection may fail after swapping between copper and fiber several times
WARNING:
- Upgrading from v1.0.0.1 to v1.0.0.5 will reset the configurations back to factory default values due to modification to the maximum LAG group number.
Known Issues and Limitations:
- Saved configuration file from v1.0.0.5 firmware is not compatible with version v1.0.0.1 and vice versa.
Upgrade Procedure:
Below are the steps to upgrade the firmware via HTTP, which is the most convenient method. For the other method, please check the IG and SW User Manual for details.

- Download the new firmware from NETGEAR product support Website and store it in local PC, and remember its location in the PC’s file system. Unzip it to get the switch firmware image “XS724EM_V1.X.X.X.image”.
- There are two methods to upgrade the new firmware from PC to the switch.
- HTTP
- ProSAFE Plus Utility
Below are the steps to upgrade the firmware via HTTP, which is the most convenient method. For the other method, please check the IG and SW User Manual for details.
- To use HTTP method, go to GUI page “Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade.
- Click the Browse button and locate and select the new firmware image file.
- Click the Apply button.
- When the upgrade is complete, your switch restarts. The upgrade process typically takes about three minutes.
WARNING:
To avoid the risk of corrupting the firmware, do not interrupt the upgrade process like turning off the power or disconnecting the switch.
