New Features/Fixes:

  1. Fixed: low throughput issue in HT40 mode under channels 8-9 in XP/Vista.
  2. Add 802.11n extension channel display on Vista.
  3. Establishes faster wireless connection with WNR3500.
  4. Drivers can work with more 2G RAM in Windows Vista.
  5. Resume GUI to be running stage from Standby/Hibernation mode.
  6. Drivers are Microsoft Windows WHQL and WiFi Draft 2.0 Certified

Installation Instructions:

Note: It's easy to damage exposed electrical parts. The damage might be hidden. It may take several shocks for serious problems to show. Avoid touching metal connection pins, and the exposed electrical circuits on the card's surface. The silver end mounting bracket is insulated, so it may be handled.

  1. Download using the button below to a convenient place such as your desktop.
  2. If the adapter is already installed in your computer:
    1. Turn off your computer.
    2. Ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface on the outside back of the computer case. Click for information about grounding.
    3. Unplug the power cord.
    4. Open the computer case.
    5. Remove the WN311T adapter card from its slot. Note which slot it is in, because you'll want to use the same slot to reinsert the card, later.
    6. Replace the computer case.
    7. Plug in the power cord.
    8. Turn the computer on, and let it reboot completely.
  1. Double click to run the wn311t_4_2_setup.exe file that you just downloaded.
  2. Select Uninstall, click Next.
  3. Run wn311t_4_2_setup.exe again.
  4. Select your Country Domain, click Next.
  5. Click OK to the Country Domain Selection warning.
  6. Click Yes to the License Agreement.
  7. Click Finish
  8. Turn off your computer.
  9. Ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface on the outside back of the computer case.
  10. Unplug the power cord.
  11. Open the computer case.
  12. Place the WN311T adapter card firmly a slot. If it was previously installed, use the same slot again.
  13. Replace the computer case.
  14. Plug in the power cord.
  15. Turn the computer on, and let it reboot completely.
  16. Click Next to start the Found New Hardware Wizard.
  17. Click Finish when Found New Hardware Wizard is completed.
  18. Close the installation program.
  19. Using the WN311T utility in Start > Programs to monitor signal strength, place the adapter where the signal is strongest.
