WGR614v9 Firmware Version 1.2.30

Modifications and Bug Fixes:

  1. Supports Live Parental Control.
  2. Added protection for XSS & CSRF attacks.
  3. Removed the Wildcard option from DDNS since it’s no longer supported by DynDNS.
  4. Fixed the RU PPTP re-connection failure issue. If the static DNS setting and the dial-on-demand setting are used, the reconnection after idle time does not work because the router has lost the DNS setting information.

    Note: This firmware will not work with the old CD’s (older than CD version 2.0) which don't have the Smart Wizard 3.0 application.

Known Issues:

  1. FVS114 VPN sometimes cannot pass through the router. To work around the problem, please make sure there is only one VPN client active on the LAN. If that still does not work, reboot the router and create the VPN connection right after the router boots up and before running any other application.

Installation Instructions:

Note: Do not upgrade the firmware using a wireless connection. Please perform firmware upgrade with “wired” or Ethernet connection only.

  1. Open a Web browser.
  2. Access the router (http://192.168.1.1 or the Default Gateway address if the router's default IP was changed).
  3. Log in the router (User Name = admin and Password = password, unless you changed it).
  4. Write down all settings that you entered when previously configuring. This includes information such as ISP configuration and wireless security settings.
  5. Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade.
  6. Click Browse and locate the firmware upgrade file.
  7. Click Upload.
  8. Wait for the router to reboot.
  9. Under Maintenance, click Settings Backup, then click Erase. (Or press the reset button on the back for 10 seconds.)
  10. Wait one minute for the router to reboot.
  11. Manually enter the configuration information you wrote down in Step 5.
