WGPS606 54Mbps Wireless Print Server with 4-Port Switch Release Notes
Modifications and Bug Fixes
Firmware Version 1025
- Fixed unable to detect any SSID in a noisy wireless environment. It used to take a retry before the site survey is able to detect SSID.
- Fixed the issue of unable to backup/restore password. Password is now encrypted and saved in the configuration file. If a configuration file was saved using previous version of the firmware then restored using this version of the firmware, then the password is unchanged by the restore function since the previous version of the firmware did not back up the password into the configuration file.
- Enhanced to detect and to warn incorrect firmware file.
- Enhanced to allow the sorting of SSID. The SSID list can be sorted based on SSID name, signal strength or channel. The default is listed by signal strength.
- Change the wording from enable wireless router to enable wireless radio.
- Enhanced to allow the installation assistant to determine whether a DHCP server exists in the network.
- Fixed the wireless LED-flashing issue when the wireless radio is disabled.
Known Issues
- If the wireless print server is switched from one wireless network to another wireless network, the wired Ethernet clients will not receive an new IP address from the new network. To renew the IP address of the wired Ethernet Clients, the user may either disconnect then reconnect the Ethernet cable which connects the wired client and the wireless print server or power cycle the wireless print server.
- You must enable bidirectional traffic support for HP PSC1300 series under Windows 98SE and Windows ME.
- Do not use an Ethernet cable to physically connect the wireless print server to the router if the wireless print server is already connected to the router via wireless connection.
- If the printer experienced paper out condition and the paper out condition lasted more than 20 minutes, then some printers may print out garbage data. To avoid this problem, cancel the print job in OS. If the print job was not canceled first and the garbage is already printing on the printer, do this to recover:
- Cancel the print job.
- Power off the printer.
- Power on printer.
- Submit the print job again.
