To Manually Upgrade the firmware
- Right-click and Save to download the firmware to a convenient place such as your desktop.
- Run the SCM utility. (Close and restart the SCM Utility if you already have it open).
- Go to "Advanced Configuration" mode.
- Select any hard disk in the list and click Next.
- In the Task Page, select Firmware upgrade, and click Next. The authentication page displays.
- Enter the administrator password, which is password, unless you changed it from the default. An "Authentication successful" message appears.
- Click Next.
- Browse to where you saved the new firmware (sc101t_firmware_1_1_3.bin) on your PC, select the firmware file, and click Next.
- After the upgrade is succeeds, wait for two minutes for the SC101T to reboot.
(Note: Occasionally the SCM might give you a message that "Firmware upgrade failed" even though it is a success. You can check the firmware version after completing the SCM upgrade.)
You now have completed the firmware upgrade process.
To Manually Upgrade an Existing SCM Utility
- Once you run the downloaded program, you are required to reboot the computer, so close all other applications before starting.
- We recommend upgrading to this new SCM utility on all your computers that run it.
- Download the new SCM to a convenient place such as your desktop. (This is a large file!)
- Select All Programs > NETGEAR Storage Central Manager > Uninstall SCM to remove the current SCM.
- Reboot the PC when prompted.
- After the reboot, double click scm_3_0_6_setup.exe to launch SCM Installation program. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
