Firmware Update Instructions:
Read and follow these instruction to update your firmware. Before you begin, we recommend that you download the latest ProSAFE Plus Utility from http://www.netgear.com/support/product/PCU.
Update your switch from v1.0.0.0:
Connect a computer with the ProSAFE Plus Utility directly to your GSS116E, and use the utility to perform the update. You cannot update the v1.0.0.0 firmware through the local browser UI.
Link aggregation stops working in VLANs when the GSS116E booted up, and when firmware is updated from v1.0.0.0. The issue is fixed in v1.0.0.2 or newer versions.
Update your switch from v1.0.0.2:
Connect a computer with the ProSAFE Plus Utility directly to your GSS116E, and use the utility to perform the update. You cannot update the v1.0.0.2 firmware through the local browser UI.
Update your switch from v1.6.0.3 or newer:
When the switch uses firmware v1.6.0.3 or newer, you must use ProSAFE Plus Utility versions later than v2.7.2 to manage your GSS116E Click Switch.
If the bootloader version is V1.0.0.0, and you update the GSS116E to firmware version V1.6.0.3 or newer, you are prompted to update the bootloader when you log in to the device through the local browser UI.
