GSM7212 Firmware Version 6.3.3.7

New Features/Enhancements/Bug Fixes:

  1. Added NETGEAR public SNTP server as default 
  2. Added warning message during upgrade via CLI 
  3. Dot1x: macbased authentication doesn’t work 
  4. SNTP:‘SNTP server time-f.netgear.com’ will cause ‘script apply’ ceased 
  5. SNTP: additional character for command 'clock timezone' 
  6. STP: path external-cost changed while modifying path cost 
  7. "show port status all" output always show STP mode of port channel as Blocked. 
  8. If SNTP server responds with "Server Kiss of Death" message, the switch does not retry SNTP request
  9. LAG could stop fowarding traffic after running a period of time 
  10. GSM7248 MTU setting not allowed on CLI 
  11. MTU showed via SNMP is wrong 
  12. DHCP server error message is cryptic 
  13. “ezconfig” does not ask for default route/gateway 
  14. Console port hang up while executing "show hosts"

  22. The interface name in error message are wrong when a port is added to LAG group that it already is a member. 
  23. SNTP: the same SNTP server can be added twice. 
  24. Traffic destined to VMAC stop forwarding after rebooting VRRP master 
  25. Using xmodem protocol to perform firmware upgrade or configuration file update by serial port might fail 
  26. DNS error message is crypted 
  27. Switch will not pass IS-IS packets 

Upgrading

Note:

  1. Using the button below, download the firmware file.
  2. If you have not setup any special functions on the existing switch other than the management IP address, or you have saved a copy of the configuration in a text file, proceed to the next step.
  3. Start a tftp server on the PC where the new images are stored. If you do not have a tftp server, you may want to try either of the following public domain tftp servers: 
    PumpKIN - http://kin.klever.net/pumpkin/ 
    Solarwind - http://support.solarwinds.net/updates/New-customerFree.cfm
  4. On the switch console, type the following command:
  5. After the switch is restarted, type the following command to verify the version is correct.
  6. .If you did not skip step #1, now you can use the saved “show run” output file to restore the switch to your configuration, otherwise skip this step.
  7. You can now make additional configuration change for your application need. And be sure to use “copy” command to save the configuration after you’re done.
