New feature and modifications:

• V2.06.03 has 3 firmware images.  Each supports a different language for the WEB GUI:  English, German, and Japanese. The supported language is identified by the postfix of image filename:

1. EN - English.
2. GR - German (Deutsch).
3. JP - Japanese ().

• Implemented new and more secured encryption algorithm to work with newer versions of Plus Utility (V2.7.2 or higher).

WARNING:

After GS108PEv3 are upgraded to FW version V2.06.03 or higher, it cannot work with Plus Utility version prior to V2.7.2.  Please download the latest Plus Utility from http://www.netgear.com/support/product/PCU

Limitations:

1. To support WEB GUI, all HTTP packets are forwarded to the embedded CPU.  With Flow Control enabled, throughput will be impacted if the rate is higher than the CPU can handle.
2. Configuration obtained from the Plus Utility cannot be used by Web GUI and vice versa.
3. IGMP dynamic router port does not timeout exactly at 300 seconds.  It could be anywhere from 300 to 600 seconds.
4. IGMP host timeout is not exactly 260 seconds.  It could be anywhere from 260 to 520 seconds.

Upgrade Procedure:

WARNING:

Do not interrupt the network connection or power to the switch, or refresh or close the browser window during this process. Do not disconnect any Ethernet cables or power off the switch until the process is complete.

1. There are 3 firmware images of V2.06.03. Each one supports Web GUI displayed in one language of English, German or Japanese. Download one firmware of 2.06.03 from NETGEAR product support Website and store it in local PC, and remember its location in the PC’s file system.
   1. For Web GUI in English, download GS108PEv3_V2.06.03EN.zip
   2. For Web GUI in German, download GS108PEv3_V2.06.03GR.zip
   3. For Web GUI in Japanese, download GS108PEv3_V2.06.03JP.zip
2. Unzip it to get the switch firmware image of .bin format:
   1. GS108PEv3_V2.06.03EN.bin for Web GUI in English
   2. GS108PEv3_V2.06.03GR.bin for Web GUI in German
   3. GS108PEv3_V2.06.03JP.bin for Web GUI in Japanese

3. There are 2 methods to upgrade the new firmware from PC to switch.
   • HTTP
   • ProSAFE Plus Utility

     Below are the steps to upgrade the firmware via HTTP, which is the most convenient method. For the other method, please check the IG and SW User Manual for details.

4. To use HTTP method, go to GUI page “Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade".
5. Click the Browse button and locate and select one new firmware image file of .bin format.
6. Click the Apply button.
7. When the upgrade is complete, your switch restarts. The upgrade process typically takes about three minutes.

WARNING:

To avoid the risk of corrupting the firmware, do not interrupt the upgrade. For example, do not turn off the switch or disconnect it.
