This note describes enhancements and bug fixes in DG834 and DG834G Release Version 3.01.31_UK/3.01.32 software. The enhancements and fixes are those added since Release Version 3.01.25.

Modifications / Bug Fixes:

  1. The ADSL driver has been updated to improve ADSL2+ interoperability.
  2. Fixed a problem with the AOL proxy which prevented Macintosh iChat from working.
  3. Fixed a problem where rules to turn off the firewall didn't work when NAT was disabled.
  4. Fixed a problem where the wireless SSID would work with up to 31 characters but failed with 32 characters.
  5. Fixed a problem with DoS detection.
  6. Fixed a problem where VPN Keep-Alive could fail after several hours.
  7. Fixed a problem where Internet access failed across a VPN with Trend Micro Security Services (TMSS) enabled (see limitation below in Known Issues).

Known Issues

  1. Internet access across a VPN will fail in the case where the remote VPN endpoint is Single PC - No Subnet. It should function when the remote IP is a single address, subnet, or range.
  2. The router GUI may not behave correctly in Mozilla Firefox Web browers.

Installation Instructions

  1. To reach the Upgrade menu, click Router Upgrade from the Maintenance section.
  2. Download and unzip the file to a convenient place such as your desktop.
  3. Using a browser, login to the router (the default URL is http://192.168.0.1). The user name isadmin, and the default password is password.
  4. Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade.

  5. Click Browse and locate the file which you just unzipped
  6. Click Upload.
  7. Wait for the upgrade progress bar to complete and final prompt to appear.

For problems after upgrading

  1. Write down all the configuration information which you preveious entered manually. These typically include information from your ISP and security settings.
  2. Clear the configuration by pressing the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel for 10 seconds, until the Test LED blinks.
  3. Reenter your configuration information manually.
